Dentures

RESTORE YOUR NATURAL LOOK

Permanent Dentures Caringbah

For patients who have all or most of their teeth missing, dentures are an affordable teeth replacement option. At The Caringbah Dentists, we can fit you with full dentures or partial dentures as you need, after a dental consultation.

It may take you a bit of time to get used to your new dentures, but they can drastically transform your life especially if you are missing all your teeth. Without teeth, the face takes on a sunken and hollow appearance which make you look aged beyond your years. With dentures, the facial structure is filled out more and they restore your appearance. You also get back the ability to chew your food properly and speak more comfortably.

Remove and clean your dentures every night and put them back in your mouth the next day morning. Caring for dentures will make them last for a long time.

Long Lasting

Dentures can last a lifetime.

Here are some of the benefits of having your missing teeth replaced with the help of dentures:

  • Dentures fill out the face, thus restoring your natural look
  • With dentures, you can eat all the foods that you love
  • Dentures also allow you to speak easily and clearly. They provide a resting place for your tongue allowing you to make certain sounds.
  • Dentures also improve your confidence. You will confidently speak and smile to your friends and acquaintances in public, and start smiling for your pictures again.
  • Dentures are the least invasive and most affordable teeth replacement option available.

Dentures are commonly used by older patients, but there may be some situations where even younger adults need to have their teeth replaced, for example in an accident. Some patients are also born without some or even all of their adult teeth. Dentures are a suitable teeth replacement option for such congenital conditions as well.

Types of dentures

There are different types of dentures based on the number of the teeth replaced and the way they are fixed in the mouth.

Full dentures are used to replace all of the teeth on the upper or lower jaw. Partial dentures are used when only some of the teeth are missing. If you still have your incisors, but all your molars are missing, you may need a partial denture that fits over your front incisors.

There are also conventional dentures that are placed directly over the gums, and implant supported dentures which are attached to metal implants in your jaw bone. Conventional dentures may need some glue or denture cement to be applied on the gums to hold them in place and prevent them from moving when you chew your food or speak. Implant supported dentures do not move as you chew or speak, and you don’t need to use any dental cement or glue. They also look and feel more natural than conventional dentures, but you will need to undergo a surgical procedure for implant supported dentures.
