Cosmetic Dentistry Caringbah

Dental procedures typically focus on restoring functionality and maintaining the health of your teeth and gums. But the appearance of your teeth also plays a crucial role in your self-esteem and the confidence with which you go about your daily life.

If you have discoloured, cracked, chipped, or oddly shaped teeth, you may be holding back all the smiles that you have inside of you. Visit The Caringbah Dentists to find out how relatively simple cosmetic dentistry procedures can give you a gorgeous smile and amazing confidence.

Set up an appointment with our cosmetic dentist to discuss how your smile can be enhanced. Our dentist will recommend the procedures that they feel will help get you the smile that you desire. In some cases, it may take just a simple procedure like teeth whitening, and in some complex cases it may require a combination of treatments to address the multiple problems affecting your smile.

The following are some of the most common cosmetic procedures performed at The Caringbah Dentists.

Professional teeth whitening

As teeth age, it can appear dull and yellow. If you smoke, or regularly consume strongly coloured food items like coffee, red wine etc. that also make leave tough stains on your teeth.

With professional teeth whitening, special bleach solutions are applied to the teeth to penetrate the enamel and get rid of deep stains. If you have a healthy set of teeth and gums, you can safely undergo teeth whitening. However, if you have cavities or gum diseases, it is better to have these problems addressed before you start with the teeth whitening treatment.

During the whitening procedure, the dentist will apply a strong bleach solution to your teeth. A special UV light is shone on your teeth to activate the solution and speed up the whitening process. With the help of professional teeth whitening, you can whiten teeth up to 10 shades.

Dental veneers

Veneers are thin porcelain shells that are applied on the surface of the teeth. If the discoloration is very serious, or if there are tiny cracks and chips on the enamel, then veneers may be a better solution than teeth whitening.

A thin layer of the enamel is removed to make space for the veneers. Veneers cannot be removed once they are placed on the teeth, because they are permanently bonded to the tooth surface. Porcelain veneers are custom-designed to suit the smile of the patient.

When correctly designed by an experienced cosmetic dentist, it is virtually impossible to tell that you are wearing dental veneers. They look completely natural.

Appointment Booking

Due to the increasing rates of COVID-19, our priority is to protect the health and safety of our patients and the wider community. The Australian Dental Association (ADA) has advised all dental practices nationwide to move to level 2 restrictions – that is, all non-essential treatment should be postponed until 30 April.

Because of this, we will be only seeing patients on an emergency-only basis until 30 April, or until advised differently by the ADA. We will be available for phone consultations, help remotely triage emergencies and also post out prescriptions for medications and dental products. Please call if you need an emergency appointment, We will only be seeing patients who have trauma, infection or are in pain.

If you do need to attend our surgery, we have implemented additional hygiene precautions including the use of a hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse, regular disinfection of all surfaces, and hand sanitiser for mandatory use for all patients entering our premises. We will also book emergencies with a 30 minute waiting period in between patients, to maintain social distancing guidelines.

This is a difficult and uncertain time for all of us. We take our contribution to flattening the curve seriously, as well as our commitment to your safety. We are so grateful for your understanding and support.

Stay well, stay safe.
