Children’s Dentistry

Caringbah Children’s Dentist

Like adults, children may also suffer from problems like cavities, bad breath, tooth decay etc. If your child complains of a toothache or you notice bad breath, bring them in for a dental examination at The Caringbah Dentists.

Getting your child started on good oral hygiene habits early on in their life helps them grow up with a healthy set of teeth. Our friendly dentists go out of their way to make our young patients feel comfortable and relaxed.

Oral health from a young age

If you actively teach your children the importance of good oral hygiene right from when they are young, they will develop excellent habits that will serve them well throughout their lifetime. Ideally, you should take your child for their very first dental visit before 1 year of age, or when the first tooth is about to erupt.

Baby teeth give support to the facial structure and also helps the baby to chew the food properly. Many people have the misconception that baby teeth are not important because the child is going to lose them anyway. But the truth is that baby teeth can also develop cavities and cause toothache if neglected.

Talk to our paediatric dentist about the best way to care for your child’s teeth.

Precautionary care

For children especially, preventive dental care is way better than subjecting them to unpleasant dental treatments. Plan regular dental consultations for your child for identifying and treating diseases in the early stages, as well as to counsel them on dental hygiene habits. Our friendly dentists will explain to them how junk and sugary food can affect their teeth adversely, and how important it is to brush every day.

The grooves and bumps on your child’s teeth can attract food particles. If not cleaned away properly, they can cause tooth decay. The Caringbah Dentists may recommend dental sealants to provide a protective coating over the baby teeth to help prevent decay.

Restorative dental care

If your child’s teeth have developed problems such as cavities, they may need to undergo restorative procedures such as crowns, fillings, or even a root canal in some severe cases. No matter what the procedure is, at The Caringbah Dentists we provide the gentle care that makes your child feel comfortable throughout.

Our friendly dentists take extra care to put children at ease. We provide them with gentle and compassionate care. If you are looking for a child friendly dental clinic, visit us at The Caringbah Dentists.

Appointment Booking

Due to the increasing rates of COVID-19, our priority is to protect the health and safety of our patients and the wider community. The Australian Dental Association (ADA) has advised all dental practices nationwide to move to level 2 restrictions – that is, all non-essential treatment should be postponed until 30 April.

Because of this, we will be only seeing patients on an emergency-only basis until 30 April, or until advised differently by the ADA. We will be available for phone consultations, help remotely triage emergencies and also post out prescriptions for medications and dental products. Please call if you need an emergency appointment, We will only be seeing patients who have trauma, infection or are in pain.

If you do need to attend our surgery, we have implemented additional hygiene precautions including the use of a hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse, regular disinfection of all surfaces, and hand sanitiser for mandatory use for all patients entering our premises. We will also book emergencies with a 30 minute waiting period in between patients, to maintain social distancing guidelines.

This is a difficult and uncertain time for all of us. We take our contribution to flattening the curve seriously, as well as our commitment to your safety. We are so grateful for your understanding and support.

Stay well, stay safe.
