WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Affordable Dental Implants Caringbah

Dental implants often prove to be the best solution in cases where patients are missing one or more teeth. If you have gaps in your teeth caused by missing teeth, you may want to visit the implant specialists at The Caringbah Dentists for a consultation.

Dental implants are special in that they allow the patient to completely regain the functionality of the teeth. Implants create the most authentic and natural appearing smiles, and the new teeth feel exactly like natural teeth.

Dental implants are a superior alternative to dentures or dental bridges that are otherwise used to fill the gaps that are caused by missing teeth. The smiles created by dental implants look and feel completely natural, and since they are fixed right into the jawbone they also provide the biological stimulation that is necessary to prevent bone loss from the jaw.

What exactly are dental implants?

A dental implant is a highly durable cylindrical block of titanium that is surgically placed into the jawbone. After placing the implant, it will completely integrate with the jawbone and becomes part of the body itself. After placing the dental implant, the tooth restoration can be done with the help of dental crowns, dental bridges, or partial dentures.

COVID-19

Due to the increasing rates of COVID-19, our priority is to protect the health and safety of our patients and the wider community. The Australian Dental Association (ADA) has advised all dental practices nationwide to move to level 2 restrictions – that is, all non-essential treatment should be postponed until 30 April.

Because of this, we will be only seeing patients on an emergency-only basis until 30 April, or until advised differently by the ADA. We will be available for phone consultations, help remotely triage emergencies and also post out prescriptions for medications and dental products. Please call if you need an emergency appointment, We will only be seeing patients who have trauma, infection or are in pain.

If you do need to attend our surgery, we have implemented additional hygiene precautions including the use of a hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse, regular disinfection of all surfaces, and hand sanitiser for mandatory use for all patients entering our premises. We will also book emergencies with a 30 minute waiting period in between patients, to maintain social distancing guidelines.

This is a difficult and uncertain time for all of us. We take our contribution to flattening the curve seriously, as well as our commitment to your safety. We are so grateful for your understanding and support.

Stay well, stay safe.
